I like your songs. I have recently decided although I may be wrong that  the best way to lose weight is to be happy. No more comfort eating and binging through self loathing and so I'm looking to improve my life now instead of decreasing my waist. So many blogs about diets and they all stop being written in when people go off the rails. Dieting is very hard and you can't do it from a negative place or you will fail. Another Week

Hi ya!

Here we are going to start a new week of diet and exercise! I have been thinking that it is probably better if I can keep the momentum up - to do 2 aerbics DVDs a day or 1 aerobics and 1 toning because if I want to shift these pounds I am going to have to shake my booty!   I really should get toning too! I have until the beginning of August to lose at least a stone so thats 2.5 months away!

So instead of typing on here - gonna let my hubby on and then go and do some aerobics (despite having a migrain yesterday!)

WEIGH - IN

...but not until tomorrow! I hope I've lost more weight!

I have a longish walk  to do today to get to a rehearsal for my G5 flute exam! I'll have to remember my pedometer Last night I did 30 minutes of aerobics - medium impact! so I was pleased with that!

Been relatively good with my food (why is food such an issue for a lot of people - including me?)

I've been wondering lately how many people read my blog(s)! Am I posting to nobody or do people actually read my writings? If you visit - fancy leaving a comment... GO ON it won't hurt ya!

The Weekend and Now

Well, here I am again!  I really don't feel like posting anything but thought I would keep someone up to date (not sure if anyone reads this or not!)!

OK over the weekend I ate 4 almond macaroons and about 4 choc chip muffins - I know I should have had more self control! Today I have hardly drunk anything (AGAIN!) but I have eaten fruit and some sausages and 2 bread rolls!

I'm feeling rather miserable lately - I think it's the stress of my flute exam and the feelings of foreboding! I have about 6 weeks to go and I really don't feel as if I'm good enough to take the exam! Oh well I've paid for it now so tough really! I HAVE to do it!

I have been putting together some crazy poems I've written so I can publish a book! Not sure who would buy them but someone might!

WEIGH IN

Whooo - weighed myself this morning and I have lost 3lbs - yippee! Need to get my act together for carrying on - I have eaten an  almond macaroon  tonight - eek that will be fattening! If I want to lose 2.5 stone I need to focus, focus, focus! I keep forgetting to measure myself! Going to do  aerobics  in a bit - have to let my dinner settle!

OK onward to next week - things I need to improve on though:

1. I need to drink a LOT more water
2. I really need to exercise more (I thought I had been, but looking back probably not!)
3. I really need to resist chocolate (even though I only ate a small amount - those calories add up!)
4. I have to check my portion sizes - I'm sure I ate way too much Cottage Pie yesterday!
5. Plan plan plan ahead is the key! My lunches went a bit off track (although I tried to make healthy ones!)
6. Forgot to measure myself last week so I will have to do that today!

Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2009

Well here I am again with another dieting blog installment! Not too much to report - yesterday evening I did nearly 20 mins of salsacise and today I think I'll do some aerobics ! For breakfast I ate 2 gluten free home made American Style Pancakes, 1oz raspberries and 1x 150g pot of soya cherry yogurt! It was really yummy! Lunch will be a tuna salad with lots of  salad veg  etc and maybe 1tsp of Hellman's Extra Light Mayo -  yummy   - it's 3% fat so much better than the other mayo, although not as creamy!

One thing I have to do is  drink  more - I really am not drinking enough and if I carry on I won't  stick to my eating plans! 

I really need to do more  walking as well - I stay indoors too often! (Hey they have a flautist and I play the flute - that was an aside...)

OK until next time - have a fab bank holiday - hope this afternoon cheers up - typical Brit BH it's raining!

Sunday 3rd May 2009

Well here I am again - I'm into the 3rd day of my diet and I feel like some CHOCOLATE! I've been 'good' the last 2 days - have done some exercising and eaten healthily - I really have to keep this up and stop thinking about bad, unhealthy food I HAVE to lose weight to fit into the clothes that still don the labels because I put on weight before I could wear them! What is a girl to do?

I think I'll have some grapes - might curb my sweet craving...

Day 1 (Friday 1st May 09)

Here is another blog entry for DAY 1 of my healthy lifestyle change...

OK this is day one of my healthy lifestyle change!


It is scary starting something new, especially as I've started healthy lifestyle changes before and lasted about a week! I am getting doubts about carrying this through as well as being excited at the prospect of losing weight, maintaining it and staying healthy! I am a mixed bag of emotions

As I get older I find I'm more fearful of failure than when I was younger - weird eh?

Well, I weighed myself this morning as this is going to be my first day and I've lost 1lb (without trying) from last week! Whooo hooo so something positive to go on with!

For breakfast I ate 3 American pancakes, lunch was a sweet potato and 4oz baked beans - don't know what I'm cooking for dinner! I've planned my menus for next week and it's shopping tonight!

Wow - this year has come so quickly and guess what readers? Yep, I'm sure you guessed it - I'm on a diet again!

I started just before New Year and have lost 3 pounds this past week and that's without exercising because I don't feel too well so I'm pleased with that! Now to this week (I still don't feel too well but I think I'll do some gentle exercises to boost ye olde metabolism!)

Well whoever's reading this I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year and may 2009 be a good one for you!

So far...

I expect I have put weight on! I mention I'm on a diet then eat more - I need a psychologist I think LOL! I have eaten cakes and biscuits (even though they are like poison to me) It doesn't help when we have people around for dinner and they bring chocolates and biscuits for us - I don't have very good willpower! *sigh*

Years ago I went on the Rosemary Conley New Inch Loss plan and lost over 3 stone so I CAN do it - I just need to get my butt off this chair and get exercising, eating less and drinking more water! See I know the solutions I am like an ill person who knows if he takes his medicine, ill get better but doesn't bother! Grrrr I annoy myself! LOL! I used to exercise twice a day and go swimming a couple of times a week but I don't bother now so I need to get pro-active!

22nd November 2008 and time to take action!

This is IT - I'm 39  in 3 months time and I've been overweight now for 2 years and I've had ENOUGH! I don't want to be fat and frumpy at the age of 40! So today I weighed and measured myself and these are the results:

Height: 5' 2" (1.58m)

Weight - 10 stone 10 (approx 150lbs) as for kilos over 64 but not sure of the exact weight!

Bust - 40"

Waist - 34"

Hips - 41.5"

Widest Part - 42.5"

Top of Left Thigh - 21"

Top of Right Thigh  - 21"

Above Left Knee - 14.5"

Above Right Knee - 14"

Both Upper Arms - 11"

My BMI is 27.4 so I'm officially overweight! Confused My target weight is 8st 7lbs (which I was 10 years ago when I moved to where I'm living at present)! M BMI then would be 21.8 (well within the healthy range of - 18.5 - 24.9)

Ways to lose weight effectively (fast isn't always effective!)

Drink more
exercise more
eat less
stop eating junk
kit out cupboards with healthy food
don't get discouraged on bad days
stop being negative
eat at set times during the day
you CAN do it!!

Great Great Dieting Era...

Today I am starting my sponsored diet for an African orphanage!  I weighed in at 10st 9 and have to lose 2 stone (28lbs) by 1st March!  (I changed from 29th Feb because 1st March is a Saturday so it will be Saturday 1st Dec - Saturday 1st March - a good Welsh day)

By losing weight I will also be reducing by BMI which is too high at present (it's about 27.?)

I will try and update this journal weekly - posting my weight loss on here!

I'm also hoping to lose inches as well  (hmmm there was no tape measure picture!)

ANNOUNCEMENT!

From December 1st I am going to be losing weight to raise funds for an orphanage in South Africa!  My weight loss campaign will go on until 29th February 2008 so that's 3 months (or approx 13 weeks) to lose 28lbs so that will be 2+lbs a week! 

The main keys to weight loss are:

1) eat healthily (5+ portions of fruit or veg a day)
2) drink 2l of water 
3) exercise at least 30 mins a day every day

This year I did the Aspire Channel Swim again  - raising funds  for a spinal injuries charity! I had to swim 1,408 lengths of my local 25m pool - this is equivalent to 22 miles  The challenge ran from 17th September - 9th December 2007

Below is the break down  of how I did!

Weight loss days ;)

It's me again - twice in a week! WOW  amazing!

Well yesterday saw me start my weight loss programme  - I am doing the Rosemary Conley Kick Start Diet but also using the Weight Watchers points - but really I'm just doing the RC one!

I did 30 minutes of aerobics  yesterday and today I briskly walked across town (which is probably only about 10-15 minutes - but hey, it was brisk!)  Maybe I should do some toning today! Hmmmmmm

OK I guess I better go out in a bit and pick my kiddy up from school  - it's raining  so I'm taking the car

Hi Reader(s),

It's nearly the end of my first week after joining Weight Watchers!  I've started to slip a bit the last couple of days  but feel inspired after receiving the latest edition of the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness magazine on Saturday!  The women in there are an inspiration (where are the men? None of you want to lose weight?)

I went to visit my parents on Saturday and was surprised at how well I did - I normally eat tons of food there ! Today I ate 1 slice of bread too many  so I need to be careful at dinner time! OK OK I'm getting obsessive - well if I don't I'll never get there...

Alright folks have a great week  a group hug for you all! If you are on a diet - be good and don't forget it takes time and energy (like all good things in life!)

Well today is the day I go back to Weight Watchers to be weighed! I don't know how I will have done - I haven't been exercising much but I have been sticking to my 'points' (even though I'm doing the Rosemary Conley diet!) - I'm not sure I should be interchanging them

Weight Watchers

OK I lost zero weight at WW today (well it could have been worse - I could have gained ) One woman lost 8lb - WOW!

The class instructor said it was even though I'd stuck to my 'points' I was eating too many snack things! Most days I could only make my days total up to 16 points but my allowance is 20! I had been eating too much guff as snacks Oh well I know now for this week!  I must exercise - that's definitely the key !

For the past couple of months I have been taking part in the Aspire Channel Swim Challenge to raise funds for Aspire Spinal Injuries charity!

I went to my local 25m pool on Thursday and swam 100 lengths and I went again today and swam 170 lengths! I have only 60 to go before I finish - YIPPEE!

30/9/06 - 140 lengths
14/10/06 - 100 lengths
21/10/06 - 160 lengths
23/10/05 - 20 lengths (they closed off half of the pool )

Total so far - 1,348 lengths
 
60 more to go!
 
It's really tiring doing a lot of lengths but I feel a sense of achievement!
 
I have raised over £100 towards it and I can still be sponsored until February so I may manage to raise a bit more too!

World cup challenge

I'm not doing well at all! I have registered though to do a sponsored swim (for a charity called Aspire)! You have 12 weeks to swim 'the channel' - well not literally but the equivalent in your pool!
 
A few years ago I was swimming 128 lengths (2 miles) 3 times a week - it I could train back up to that level before the challenge begins - I could swim 72 miles in the 12 weeks! The channel is only 22 miles! :)
 
So I'm going to go to the pool and train (Swimming is something I really like doing!)

I became a Christian in 1990 which changed my life drastically! I'm married and I have 2 sons who are 15 and 13 - I teach both of them at home. I am having flute and singing lessons and some music theory lessons. I really need to lose weight to feel and look good (the feeling good is more important :) )!
